Columbia, MD – February 5, 2010 – Danielle McCollian was invited to speak at the Virginia Association of Community Banks (VACB) Spring Internal Audit Seminar on May 7th in Staunton, VA. Ms. McCollian (nee DeLucca), is ICS Compliance’s Director of Fair Lending and CRA services and a seasoned expert in such topics. She is frequently invited to speak at national and regional conferences and seminars.
In this session, Ms. McCollian will speak about the basic elements that should be included in fair lending risk assessments. In the midst of the current mortgage crisis, Regulators are often including comparative file reviews as part of their exams. They also are expecting all size banks to be conducting their own fair lending risk assessments and comparative file reviews. This means that banks need to implement a process to regularly review their loan policies, underwriting criteria, and loan data to determine the lending products and customers that may be most vulnerable to discrimination and identify loan files that should be tested.
Member Auditors of the VACB will be in attendance to hear Ms. McCollian speak as part of this 2-day, 10-hour program. Other sessions will include: liquidity risk management, corporate governance, and fraud, to name a few.
