ICS Compliance Manager Sharon Blanchette Spoke at the CSCPA Friday Focus Meeting


Hartford, CT – January 19, 2010
–Sharon Blanchette, Compliance Manager and Subject Matter Expert in compliance monitoring best practices at ICS Compliance was invited to present at The Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants’ Friday Focus session on January 15, 2010.

 

Ms. Blanchette spoke on regulatory changes in the lending environment. Specifically, she discussed the Truth in Lending (Regulation Z) changes that occurred in 2009 and will be occurring in 2010; the RESPA changes that were effective January 1, 2010; as well as the SAFE Act, HVCC, and other lending guidance.

 

This 2-hour session was free to CSCPA members who practice in industry, of which more than 35 attended and earned CPE credits. Attendees represented banks as well as non-profit organizations and private businesses that seek financing from banks.

 

With more than 20 years experience in compliance, accounting, and auditing, Ms. Blanchette maintains credentials as a CPA and CIA, and holds an MBA in Finance. As a former Vice President of Internal Audit & Control for a $1.4 billion FDICIA bank, she was responsible for all aspects of internal and compliance auditing, and annual audit risk assessments. Ms. Blanchette is a frequent speaker for the CSCPA, and is a member of the CSCPA Financial Institutions Committee.
